Following multiple delays due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the film finally hit theaters and HBO Max in September. Malignant reunites Wan with star Annabelle Wallis after 2014's Annabelle, with the cast also including Maddie Hasson, George Young, Michole Briana White, Jacqueline McKenzie and Bisu. Malignant revolves around a young woman who begins suffering from visions of gruesome murders that she later learns to be real and must dive back into her mysterious past for answers to stop the killings before it's too late. The film comes from a concept developed by Wan, star Ingrid Bisu and writer Akela Cooper, with the Luke Cage alum penning the script for the Aquaman director.
